When you need a root canal, consider why we believe you deserve a specialist.

What is an endodontic specialist?

An endodontist is a dental specialist who has completed dental school and an additional 2-3 years of postdoctoral specialty training. Endodontists are the only dental specialists with specialty training in root canals and related surgeries. Many endodontists, including Dr. Moore, use surgical microscopes with fiberoptic lighting and magnification, aspects critical for precision endodontic treatment.

Tooth loss may require additional dental visits and expenses, and endodontists are experts at saving teeth that might otherwise be lost to extraction. They are also trained and equipped to repair and re-treat compromised root canals.

Who is Dr. Moore?

Dr. Moore graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1981 and received his doctorate of dental medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1985. He established a private dental practice upon graduation.

Dr. Moore has also worked as a hospital dentist in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, treating private patients, as well as doctors and medical staff. After completing a contract overseas, he was accepted into the endodontic specialty program at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, one of the leading specialty departments in the world.

Dr. Moore graduated from the Advanced Endodontic Program at USC in 1997 and began his practice in Meridian, MS. He has traveled numerous times with Christian medical and dental mission groups to Russia, Mexico, and Honduras to provide dentistry to the underprivileged. He continually strives to stay abreast of the advancements in his field, and annually returns to USC for the International Symposium for Endodontics to learn from top clinicians worldwide.

Dr. Moore and his wife, Dene, have six sons who keep him very busy. His clinical and life mission are the same…to do his best work as if doing it for the LORD. (Colossians 3:23)

Why Dr. Moore?

Through extensive study and meticulous training, Dr. Moore has established a reputation for saving severely compromised teeth. His patients are recipients of his high success rates for root canals and microsurgeries, as well as his sincere devotion to their comfort and well-being. All of Dr. Moore’s root canals and surgeries are performed entirely with the precision and magnification of a state-of-the-art Zeiss surgical microscope. Many of Dr. Moore’s patients come as referrals from other dentists who understand the need for a specialist’s care. Patients often make that decision independently, either through their own research or when seeking a second opinion. Dr. Moore enjoys discussing the objectives that must be met for a root canal’s success. When you need a root canal, Dr. Moore and his staff believe you need an endodontist.

But aren't root canals painful?

Endodontists are trained to relieve pain, not cause it. As our patient, you are always in control during the procedure. Our priority is to ensure you are comfortable for the entire treatment.
